Who We Are
Ausrox Gold is first and foremost a dedicated gold nugget broking business. We buy and sell natural gold nuggets and specimen gold that is representative of many gold ore bodies mined in Australia and around the world. We source directly from prospectors and mining companies, selling to our clients at wholesale prices. Put simply, we aim to deliver a secure nugget brokering service that is competitively priced and fair to all parties involved.
Our company has over 40 years of combined expertise in the sourcing and global marketing of gold nuggets, gold in host rock, gold crystals, wires, and leaf for the global jewellery and collector markets. We have world-wide expertise and access to markets that can be leveraged to develop and market exceptional specimen and jewellery grade gold. Ausrox Gold has substantial experience in the sourcing and marketing of mineral specimens from numerous mines and mining operations around the world. Given our long-term participation in this niche sector, our global network of buyers and private collectors allows us to market gold specimens on an international stage. Our industry experience, integrity, professionalism and the respect of peers enables us to stand apart from our competitors.
How We Started
Robert Sielecki and Andy Comas initially started Ausrox Gold as a hobby which then developed into a full-scale broking business. As young geologists working in Mount Isa, Queensland and Tennant Creek, Northern Territory goldfields, the two used to go fossicking together for adventurous fun. Although the two men had always discussed doing business together, they were never in the same place at the same time for any substantial length of time.
Not long after Andy had launched into a new career as a Perth based stockbroker, Rob decided to expand his wholesale minerals business – Crystal Universe – with a new showroom in Perth. It has taken several years since then to develop Ausrox Gold into the business that it is today. The business draws upon the two men’s combined knowledge of the gold market – Rob in collecting and brokering gold nugget varieties over a 20 year period; Andy from a career in mining and gold exploration as well as a stockbroker with a bias towards gold stocks.
Today, Ausrox Gold strives to work with mining and exploration companies and prospectors to source specimens as a record of the gold and other mineralization discovered whilst operating on their tenements. The many museums and private collections that exist today are in fact memorials that preserve the myriad of nugget specimens from times past. If Ausrox Gold had been around in the 1800s, we like to think that we would have saved all those gold nuggets larger than 1000 ounces!
How We Can Help
For many people, the enjoyment of owning gold nuggets is greater than investment in gold coins and bars. Although both investments are used as a store of value and wealth against depreciating currencies and for asset class diversification, owning nuggets allows one to appreciate the natural aesthetics of gold. They become personal pieces of art rather than just for pure wealth preservation. Although smaller nuggets are generally bought to be made into earrings, brooches and pendants, larger nuggets are generally bought for display purposes in personal collections or loaned out to museums to preserve them from being melted down.
Ausrox Gold seeks to establish agreements with mining companies to source, appraise, and market gold as well as other mineral specimens from their mining operations. We encourage mining companies to contact us when they discover large lodes of mineralization so that we can purchase the very best of any specimens that are found and then broker them to the global marketplace. Most quality specimens are worth more whole, so once these specimens have been sent away for processing, their natural beauty is lost and the intrinsic aesthetic value is destroyed.
